Memento Mori Last Things Bracelet
Four Last Things Memento Mori Decade Bracelet
Memento mori or “remember your death” is the Latin phrase long associated with the practice of remembering the unpredictable and inevitable end of one’s life. This phrase and the symbols and sayings associated with it were particularly popular in the medieval Church. Skulls have been used as a memento mori on rosaries since at least the 16th century in the Church. But the practice of remembering death stretches back to the very beginning of salvation history when God says to Adam and Eve as they leave the Garden of Eden: “You are dust, and to dust you shall return” (3:19).
For the Christian, death is transformed into a doorway to heaven but we also must prepare for it. This decade bracelet will help you to contemplate the four Last Things—death, judgment, hell, heaven—and all that Jesus has done to save us from the death of sin. Each skull bead represents one Last Thing and serves as a reminder that life is fleeting and that we are called to live for holiness.
Bracelet made on stretch cord with black lava beads and four ivory colored skulls and two crosses with ten beads between them so they can be used to pray a decade of the Rosary.
