About the author

Father Pascal Cataneo was a contemporary of Padre Pio. Born in a village on Mount Gargano, he was ordained a priest in Bologna in 1940 and met with Padre Pio shortly after his ordination. The two priests kept in touch for nearly two decades, until Padre Pio's death in 1968. Father Cataneo first published his collection of stories of Padre Pio's life in I Fioretti di Padre Pio (the Little Flowers of Padre Pio), from which this English-language work is translated.
