I Forgive You - Love We Can Hear, Ask For, and Give
Written by Nicole Lataif, author of the award-winning Forever You: A Book about Your Soul and Body, this book teaches children ages 4 - 7 a balanced, Christian view of forgiveness. Simply structured sentences and scenarios paired with whimsical illustrations show children the power of three simple words: I Forgive You.
Examples of when to forgive are illustrated, along with simple explanations of what happens when forgiveness is withheld. Children are encouraged to forgive as God does - gently, and with the willingness to do so again and again. They are also shown how to forgive without compromising their safety.
A note "For Grown-Ups" explains that this resource sparks conversation with children about when to forgive in a healthy way. It stresses God's never-ending patience and love, laying the foundations for a young child's faith formation. Ending with a petition to God for help in forgiving others, I Forgive You: Love We Can Hear, Ask For, and Give demonstrates to children the peace that comes with forgiveness.

Fr. R. Scott Hurd, author of Forgiveness: A Catholic Approach
"Understanding the need for and having the courage to seek forgiveness can be a difficult topic to address with children... A note "For Grown-ups" at the beginning sets the stage for the lessons contained in the book and will be useful to teachers and parents as they teach children to understand forgiveness. The children's forgiveness prayer, located after the main text, is useful in showing children how they can seek forgiveness from others and talk with God about their troubles?Provide this book in a classroom or school library to be used as a bridge with children for whom the subject of forgiveness has been previously explored."
